What is your book An Accidental Murder about?
An Accidental Murder introduces readers to Ella Bridges, a spirited young woman who almost impulsively purchases the enchanting Yellow Cottage on idyllic Linhay Island - a place she fell in love with during carefree childhood holidays. The origin story of how Ella came to buy the cottage is in the prequel The Yellow Cottage, which can be found on my website.
Ella anticipates peace, solitude, and perhaps a gentle adventure, but soon discovers that her charming new home comes with some unusual surprises - including a mischievous and remarkably clever ghostly cat she names Phantom.
After visiting her family in London, Ella’s journey home by steam train takes a mysterious turn when a frightened young girl suddenly rushes into her carriage and hides beneath the seat just as the train departs. Intrigued and sensing that the girl is not quite what she seems, Ella is swiftly drawn into a tangled web of secrets, lies, and murder - a perilous investigation that will lead her back into the bustling heart of London, and straight into danger.
Rich with period charm, subtle humour, and a gentle touch of the supernatural, An Accidental Murder sets Ella Bridges on the path to becoming an extraordinary detective - and hints enticingly at the remarkable destiny awaiting her.
