Suzy Henderson

Award-winning author Suzy Henderson lives in Cumbria, where she writes full-time, often lost in the 1940s. She is both an independent and traditionally published author, writing historical fiction, romance, fantasy, and short stories.

Previously a midwife, Suzy has always been drawn to stories that explore human resilience and compassion—a passion that drove her to write The Beauty Shop, her debut novel, which delves into the strength and courage of individuals during WWII.

Originally from northern England, Suzy spent ten years in the southwest before settling in Cumbria. Her home, nestled between Hadrian’s Wall and the Lake District fells, provides the stunning backdrop that often inspires her writing. With a degree in English Literature, she enjoys walking the fells, reflecting by the lakes, and running in her spare time.
